Receiving Notifications and Downloading Files

How do you know someone shared a file with you?

The built-in notification system of FileAegis™ helps you never miss any important shared files by sending email notifications (which can be disabled by unchecking the box on the personal settings page) and giving notifications through the icon   in the upper right corner.

In addition, you may also see files shared with you by:

  • receiving a file link sent by the user sharing the file through email or communication apps
  • checking the file list (which needs to be set to be sorted by date since the latest shared file is not always displayed at the top)
  • viewing the Dashboard (which only shows the latest 5 shared files)

This chapter explains how to view system notifications.

  1. Click the bell icon   of system notifications in the upper right corner of the page to open the notification list, including notifications of file receipt, of a [received file] being returned, of a [received file] being deleted, and of joining a group.
  2. Notifications of file receipt: click the filename or   in a notification to view the file details.  Click   to download the file.
  3. Click on the blank space of a notification to mark the notification as read, and it will be deducted from the number shown in the red badge on the bell icon.
  4. Click the bell icon and a drop-down list will appear. Click [View All] at the bottom to view the complete notification history.
  5. Click   (unread) in the function column of the notification list and that notification will be displayed as   (read). The number of unread notifications on the bell icon will be reduced by 1 accordingly.
